Bengali Khichdi

Happy VijayaDashmi…

Good over evil..This day has been marked as the victory from all evil powers by burning Ravana and is also marked as a day of Visarjan of Durga Ma which is celebrated by playing with sindoor & roli among married women and the goddess, everyone celebrates the festival with great enthusiasm and savoring food items that are being cooked to celebrate the victory but one of the unknown fact is that on this day when the deity leaves the pandal she is offered with khichdi & chutney, one of the favorite food item that she wishes to have and then it is distributed as a bhog to people, then why not cook it at home and offer to Ma to make her happy and let her  shower blessings.

A great aroma comes out of it while cooking which is so tempting that i bet, you’just cant resist to eat it as its not any other khichdi but a bengali khicdi prepared in a different way..
